What
is our organization?
The American Philatelic
Foundation is a non-profit, 501-3C organization, serving the
public now for thirty years. By calling our Los Angeles,
California office directly, (310) 275-3256 we answer questions
about stamp collecting. Office hours are 10am - 4pm Pacific
Time. Our organization donates much of its time and material
to hospitals and youth groups with a specific emphasis on
young children who we hope to interest in the hobby of stamp
collecting. Our
Director, Michael DuBasso has been acting director for thirty
years. He is a knowledgeable philatelist and renowned
appraiser in his field. Michael has written a definitive
book on
stamp collecting which was recently published.
We are also the
only non-profit organization in the United States that
properly appraises a stamp collection at no charge. For
further information see Appraisal
Services.
There comes a time when a
person who has inherited a stamp collection must make a
decision to sell it or have the collection appraised to
determine value. Simply put you must trust someone. I highly
recommend you put your trust with the APF (American Philatelic
Foundation).
As a Director of this
organization and in other matters I have been serving the
public in good faith all my life.
